Matt Zo announces The Next Chapter tour + new track on Anjunabeats

The GRAMMY-nominated artist is gearing up for his headlining The Next Chapter Tour, kicking off in Los Angeles.

Mat Zo has recently stepped back into the limelight and it’s a place everyone can say is long overdue for the brilliant genre-defying musician. In addition to releasing his MAD ZOO label compilation release, Zo also came out guns blazing on his recent Mat Zo Quest mix on BBC Radio 1. Now, the Damage Control producer has announced his upcoming 8-date tour, dubbed The Next Chapter, hitting select markets this March through May.

To celebrate, Zo has returned to the label which launched his name to global prestige with a brand new track, “The Next Chapter.” The five-and-a-half minute track just landed on Anjunabeats and features GQ along the entire journey. One of the most sought-after tracks from Above & Beyond‘s ABGT 350 set, “The Next Chapter” incorporates a sample from the legendary drum’n’bass MC GQ. 

“There was a period in the mid-2000s when trance was starting to get really dark,” says Zo on the track. “For ‘The Next Chapter’ I wanted to rekindle that dark trance energy. I added the GQ sample (of him MCing at Westfest) because it reminded me of a drum and bass roller, but in trance form.”

Tickets for The Next Chapter tour go on sale Friday, February 7, at 10am on Mat Zo’s website.
