Everyone’s favorite bass music demigod, Bassnectar, has delivered on another round of his celebrated Colorado event, Freestyle Sessions. Held annually in Broomfield, Colorado’s 1stBank Center, the three day “deep-dive into freestyle music” will be returning the first weekend in June.
Many wondered whether the Colorado-dedicated would see it’s fourth year after the structural integrity of the venue was compromised, causing the Bassnectar team to cancel the second day and relocate the third night to Denver Coliseum. Especially considering how the “dark party” evening spurred the start of Freakstyle in Michigan over Halloween.
Newcomers to the community should very well remember that Freestyle Sessions is all-out improv showdown, so don’t plan to hear Bassnectar’s biggest bangers and most-sought after tracks. That’s why bassheads have BassCenter and NYE360. On the contrary, this is an experimental bootleg affair where “anything goes,” according to Bassnectar. He puts it perfectly in his show announcement:
“Throwbacks, classics, rare edits, exclusive re-cuts, re-tweaks, and re-imagines. Every style, any genre, whatever the moment calls for: a true celebration of sound system culture. For those who love the obscure, the abstract, the abnormal, and everything in between: we are bringing the freakbeats for the beatfreaks.”
Limited pre-sales will be available on Wednesday, February 12, at 10am MT. General on-sale begins Friday, February 14, also at 10am MT. Grab tickets on Bassnectar’s website.
