Boys Noize reveals two new singles, 'Girl Crush' & 'Buchla 100'

Boys Noize begins the year with high-octane double release, ‘Girl Crush’ & ‘Buchla 100’

Berlin-based DJ/producer and Boys Noize Records owner Alex Ridha is starting 2020 off strong. The self-proclaimed techno punk is fresh off his Grammy appearance alongside Skrillex and Ty Dolla $ign. Now Boyz Noize has released his first two solo singles on the year with “Girl Crush,” featuring Rico Nasty, and “Buchla 100.”

Ridha has created a sound and a vision that’s uncompromising and enduring. Highly respected in the scene, banging from underground to mainstream, the German-Iraqi’s sound is one that flies in the face of convention at every turn. Yet, it is still grounded in music traditional, showing Boyz Noize knows where dance music originated and where it is going. It’s a style that is showcased on “Buchla 100,” an ode to the Buchla 100 modular synth system built in the sixties. He uses the machine to build a cold-blooded dance floor weapon that is marked by complex oscillators and dynamic waveshaping.

As for the other single, “Girl Crush,” Boys Noize enlists Maryland-based rapper Rico Nasty for a pulsating low-end industrial track. The collaborative stomper is every bit as unforgiving as “Buchla 100,” yet a complete 180 in terms of style. Tinged by acidic elements and psychedelica, the track (and official music video) will have listeners entering altered states of consciousness.
