The Floozies enlist Dirt Monkey on steadfast hyrbid bass-funk track, ‘I Ain’t Home’
The Floozies have returned with the lead single to their forthcoming Dayglow Funk album, due out April 17.
Brothers Matt and Mark Hill are the sonic visionaries behind hybrid electronic-funk powerhouse duo, The Floozies. Certified heavyweights in the world of jam and future-groove, the Kansas-based tandem champion authentic funk in the digital age. Ahead of their forthcoming album, Dayglow Funk, the two-piece outfit deliver the first look into their next chapter, “I Ain’t Home” featuring bass music veteran Dirt Monkey.
With an all-encompassing sound reminiscent of the golden age of jazz and funk, “I Ain’t Home” refurbishes antiquated genres with a polished, wide-angled touch. Dirty Monkey brings his swampy bass and riddim chops to the track as well, with a more mellowed technique that fans are used to hearing of the Louisiana musician. It’s an unwavering match-up that leaves listener yearn to see the track played out with live instrumentation. Weaving elements of jamtronica, bass, and steadfast funk, “I Ain’t Home” is a mirage of vibrant sound-design possesses an undeniable mainstage prowess.
Luckily, fans will have that chance as The Floozies will be embarking on their headlining spring tour around the time of the Dayglow Funk LP release. The Floozies also plan to release two more singles before the album sees its wide release, one of which happens an impressive collaboration with Tech N9ne.
