Abraxis release Amygdala mix with an hour of psytrance

Seven Lions & Dimibio release hour-long psytrance ‘Amygdala mix’ under newly-formed Abraxis alias

Abraxis, the newly formed alias by Ophelia head Seven Lions and psytrance duo Dimibo, is already an institution and they’ve only released one record. Things all began at Dreamstate SoCal last November when the three performed a festival closing set to a fully packed tent on the second night. They came to call the experience as “the first lecture” and the next step is history.

Combining influences of psy, midtempo, and melodic dubstep, the powerhouse trio adds an entirely original spin on psytrance. It’s an important historical moment, especially for US dance music fans, who are not nearly as well schooled in the world’s most popular EDM genre, at least as compared to those from other countries.

Now the “faculty of the Abraxis Institute,” as they’re coming to call themselves, have returned with an hour-long mix exploring the dynamic range of psytrance. Dubbed the Amygdala mix, this face-paced journey is the perfect piece of curriculum to school one’s self on the state of psytrance.

Next up, Abraxis will be making their Electric Daisy Carnival debut at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, May 15-17. Abraxis is also set to release their next single, “Night Rider,” this Friday, March 5, on Seven Lions’ Ophelia imprint. The single will feature previous Seven Lions collaborator, Crystal Skies.
