sfam release forward-thinking bass single, ‘cohesion’
New Orleans experimentalists Jacob Hoerner and Michael Pearson are sfam. The pair have been wildly popular with underground bass music fanatics since as far back as 2017. CE even selected their Wakaan-produced Shadows EP for our Rising Bass Spotlight issue back in September. Their last collaboration, “It Never Ends,” with G-Space and Mystic Grizzly was just released as part of a Bassrush compilation. As they continue to position themselves as one of the bass scene’s most innovative new acts, sfam now releases “cohesion.”
Drawing inspirations from heavy bass, minimal trap beats, and amorphous atmospheres, the track is a quintessential sfam ditty. Deep, dark, and dangerously distinct, the two dare listeners to not make bass-face on “cohesion.” The duo says of the independent release, “with bass music becoming so popular, it’s becoming more and more difficult to really stand out. we’ve been digging deep to bring you the most forward-thinking bass music we’re capable of producing.”
