Underground bass producer Chee releases first Deadbeats single to kick off forthcoming EP

Chee reveals first single ‘Vultures’ off upcoming Deadbeats project

South African producer Chee has been making moves in the bass music scene for several years. Once bass music’s hottest underground newcomer, he’s been honing his experimental style, steadily releasing EPs and singles, and showing off his unique musical skills along the way. In the past, the independent artist has handled all his own music releases, but now Chee has signed on with Zeds Dead‘s iconic label on his debut Deadbeats track, “Vultures.”

The track starts off slow, with some stretched-out spacey synths building into a slow, deep bass and warped vocal samples before hitting listeners with an incredibly low and banging drop. It features a low BPM, but bass so powerful it will vibrate your chest. This song has already been spun in sets by many well known experimental producers such as Liquid Stranger, EPROM, and G Jones, cementing Chee as an artist to watch.

“Vultures” marks the first track from Chee’s upcoming Quarter Inch EP, set to be released in April. Already in demand, Chee can be found on several lineups this year including Shambhala and The Untz. Chee can also be seen live this spring as he accompanies Subtronics on his remaining tour dates, details here.
