Gorgon City link with Chicago soul/dance duo DRAMA on fluid house jam, ‘Nobody’ [WATCH]

Gorgon City is releasing their first new music of 2020. The celebrated UK duo haven’t released an original since their MK-assisted hit single, 2019’s “There For You.” Their newest collaboration is a beautiful and fluid house jam, entitled “Nobody,” which teams with Chicago soul-dance crossover duo, DRAMA.

DRAMA is Ne’el Shehade and vocalist Via Rosa, a multicultural collaboration blurring the lines between R&B, soul, and dance. The pair already have credits with Chance the Rapper and Kanye West under their belt. So when Gorgon City discovered the duo lived in Chicago, where Kye (of Gorgon City) was currently spending lots of time, they had to get in the studio together. After a couple of days of writing ideas, “Nobody” was born, where Gorgon City then finished up production in London.

With each release setting a new standard for Gorgon City, “Nobody” is a deviation in sonic feel for them as producers and for their own imprint, Realm. The joint effort shows the acts varied and versatile production range, downtempo but retaining its energetic feel, with a soulful vocal at its core making it a standout and unique release.

“Nobody” also comes equipped with a new video involving a street dance interpretation of West Side Story, shot in DRAMA’s hometown with a local Chicago street dance crew, paying homage to the city that inspired Gorgon City and Drama’s collaboration.
