10 years ago, Hospital Records gave Dutch producer Boris Daenen the opportunity of a lifetime: his debut self-titled album, Netsky. Almost right out of the gate, the LP struck a nerve with crowds all over the globe and Netsky would be a staple fixture of the drum-n-bass scene. “In that 10 years I’ve been lucky enough to release two more albums, many singles and EP’s and toured all over the world,” says Netsky.
He’s since gone on to work some of the industry’s key tastemakers, signed with Sony Music UK, hosted a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and has experimented with all different genres and influences. Now the iconic DnB producer is ready to fly back to the nest. After a six-year stint from his home label, Netsky is back with “I See The Future In Your Eyes,” the lead single from a brand new project expected later this year on Hospital.
“Over the last year, I have found myself naturally coming back to producing Drum & Bass, and made perfect sense to me to release it with the label where it all began back in 2010. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on, and I’m excited to kick it all off with this single.”
“I See The Future In Your Eyes” is the classic prescription of infectious drum-n-bass that Netsky had become synonymous with for a time. In fact, it has never been quite the same since he started away from the genre. With skittering breakbeats, soaring synths, gorgeous vocals, melodious toplines, and a beat that slows down and speeds up at the drop of a drumstick, the track signals Netsky’s long-awaited homecoming to a genre that he helped lead in the early-mid 2010s. This is happy, nostalgia drum-n-bass… the likes of which fans have been craving to hear from Netsky and one everyone had almost all-but given up on.
