Amon Tobin unveils wildly experimental bass LP under Two Fingers alias, ‘Fight! Fight! Fight!’
If you haven’t heard of Two Fingers — Amon Tobin‘s darker, grittier, alter-ego — then it’s time to verse yourself on boundary-pushing bass music. Since releasing his last studio album as Two Fingers almost eight years ago, Tobin makes his long-awaited return with Fight! Fight! Fight!
Intelligent, innovative, and fresh, the 11-track LP is bursting at the seams with innovative bass sonics. Littered with new and unheard rhythms, topsy-turvy baselines, and gritty sub bass, the album is as experimental as its comes. In fact, the album is an experiment in experimentation in its ability to create never-before-heard bass sounds. From the ear-tingling drops and vocal chops on “Rockyou Feelit” to rhythmic innovations like “LED Moon Rhythm,” “LALA Rhythm,” and ” Nuff Swiss Rhythm.”
Two Fingers has also tapped some of bass music’s best experimentalists in G Jones, Little Snake, and Ivy Lab for a few collaborations that push the project over the top. Originally set to headline Lightning in a Bottle this month, Two Fingers can instead be found on the live streams from his amazing Fight! Fight! Fight! album release party, which invited the best in experimental bass.
