Petit Biscuit & Shallou showcase synergy on ethereal new single, ‘I Leave Again’ [WATCH]

Since the start of his electronic music career back in 2017, Petit Biscuit has grown leaps and bounds creatively. The “Sunset Lover” artist, who runs around as Mehdi Benjelloun, has blossomed into one of indie-electronic’s most inspired producers. Following a half-year dry streak that started with Petit’s late-2019 remix of Flume and Vera Blue’s “Rushing Back,” now fans are treated to the French musician’s first release of 2020. The track, which features the talented Shallou on co-production credits, is titled “I Leave Again.”

The collaboration was a natural progression from the two’s friendship formed over the years.

“We first met when Shallou supported me on my first American tour and what I saw on stage was absolutely crazy,” says Petit Biscuit. “Joe is a passionate guy and a nice human being and we became friends. I came to the US in April 2019 for a change of scenery to get some inspiration for my new music and I invited Joe to come to where I was staying to work on some music together. We spent hours listening to a lot of different stuff and tried lots of different things, but it wasn’t until a few months later that we had finally found the perfect tune to collaborate on.”

Featuring soothing melodies and poetic lyrics, bright xylo-synths, brilliant percussion, and ethereal builds, the joint effort is the perfect marriage of style between the producers. Albeit, their indie-leaning styles just naturally complement one another in the dance music arena. Lightweight, affectionate, and atmospheric, “I Leave Again” is the stuff of indietronica greatness. Be sure to also check out the gorgeous music video accompaniment directed by Quentin Deronzier.
