First Illenium single of 2020 lands this Friday

If there’s one thing Illenials have been yearning for throughout 2020, it’s more sad boy music from Nick Miller. The Denver-based melodic star, known popularly as Illenium, has been hunkered down in his studio doing Twitch live streams for his fan base. However, Miller made it clear early on that he wouldn’t be doing any live-streamed sets during quarantine. So what’s an Illenium fan to do, especially considering live sets are where Miller’s fanbase usually gets to hear Illenium IDs first?

The wait for new Illenium music comes to an end this Friday, August 28, as the producer is set to release “Nightlight.” It will mark the first time in 2020 that Illenium has unleashed a new tune. Miller capped off last year with his third studio album, Ascend, which was released during his short-lived time on Astralwerks. The LP saw an official remix package and Tour Edits EP released in 2020, but Illenium hasn’t himself released a new original title yet on the year.

“Nightlight” will mark Illenium’s first release since signing with 12Tone Music, the NYC-based record label that houses Anderson .Paak among others. No word on why Miller’s time with Astralwerks was so short-lived, but it will interesting to see what creative directions he take the Illenium project on the smaller imprint.
