Weekend Windback: Stream EPROM and Still Cold’s debut LP from their house alias, Deep Sky Objects

Hands up for EPROM. Even for his most devoted fans, many may not know the West Coast bass beatmaker (real name Alexander Dennis) has an experimental house alias in his expansive sonic catalogue. Enter: Deep Sky Objects, EPROM’s collaborative project with Andrew Doubek (aka Still Cold) exploring new terrain in uptempo dance music. The duo’s self-titled debut studio album, Deep Sky Objects, is a journey into smooth chill-out sounds, complex progressions, four-on-the-floor beats, and more.

The nine-track LP was originally released this past spring, making it the perfect Weekend Windback selection. From the album’s opening title, “Brothers & Sisters,” which explores soft textures, spacey sounds, and R&B vocal samples, all the way until the project’s closing track, “LDN-1768,” a glitched-out sonic portrait, the entire LP is sure to take listeners on a one-of-a-kind journey that redefines house music as the world has come to know it. Deep Sky Objects is exceptional and refreshing.

No wonder the house music side-project has been invited to play alongside Claude VonStroke at his Dirtybird Campout event, which is known for forwarding spacier house sounds, glitchy numbers, and experimental beats. Take a listen to the full LP below.
