Lane 8’s ‘Brightest Lights’ gets retouched by Ben Böhmer, CloZee, Le Youth, & more in gargantuan remix pack

Just when people thought Lane 8 was sleeping, the artist who never sleeps has come barrelling out of the gates with another full-length. This time, the project takes the form of a gargantuan 24-track remix package for his latest studio album, Brightest Lights. The January-released LP, which will undoubtedly make countless Top Albums of 2020 shortlists, was a tastemaking game-changer that fully solidified the Lane 8 organic, chill house aesthetic.

For the remix album, the This Never Happened label boss has called upon dance music veterans and rising stars alike, with Ben Böhmer, CloZee, Le Youth, Sultan + Shepard, Dirty South, and many more to put their marks on his lush melodic gems. Of course, plenty of This Never Happened signees also make appearances on the project, including Anderholm, Jerro, Avoure, Massane, and many more.

From Jerro and Dirty South’s cuts of “Road” and Solanca’s beautiful rework of “Yard Two Stone,” to Anderholm and Le Youth’s takes on “The Rope” and Ben Böhmer’s magnificent take on “How Often,” there’s just so many great new renditions that it’s impossible to list them all. In large part, because every contributor has something ferociously unique to bring to the table.

The absolute stunner on the remix pack belongs to CloZee, who puts her tribally wooden tones on “Sunday Song,” making the record entirely her own. It goes without saying that avid CloZee fans cannot wait to hear this standout remix in her wildly original, journey-filled live sets.

Brightest Lights Remixed follows Lane 8’s collaborative album, Cross Pollination, released less than a month ago, along with his warm summer mixtape and a fall mixtape that’s just around the corner. Stream the full, 24-track remix LP below.
