UZ releases impossibly long-awaited new ‘Trinity’ LP on his very own Quality Goods
Since popping onto the scene back in 2012, French DJ and producer UZ has become a worldwide driving force in a variety of electronic genres – and under a variety of monikers. With over 200 releases on his label and other top imprints like Mad Decent, Boys Noize Records, and mau5trap, the former battle champ has been busy prepping his third artist album, Trinity. Now UZ has officially released his impossibly long-awaited new Trinity LP on his very own Quality Goods Records. Trinity follows UZ’s 2017 album, Layers, that charted at No. 24 in the Billboard Charts.
Marking a return to his original, groundbreaking trap roots and eight years into the UZ project, Trinity features fifteen tracks of fresh and devastating material along with a long list of sought-after collaborators. During the production of the LP, UZ felt himself going through these same phases of metamorphosis, with his renowned sound evolving and shifting into something entirely new. The Trinity LP represents a new path and sees UZ soaring to new heights musically and creatively.
I started working on Trinity about one and a half years ago. I have always been a prolific artist but I really wanted to take my time on this last album. I have been writing music under the influence for the past 15 years or so but fortunately I became totally sober almost two years ago, so this was going to be a different approach to the writing process.UZ
Alongside his big hits from the last 12 months that including “Fire,” “Bang Bang,” and “Awakening,” there are numerous unheard pieces of material, and it’s clear this has been a long time in the making. The talent on Trinity is impressive from the get-go: with UK grime artist Snowy, producers HOLLY, HUCCI, Brothel, Chicago-based Solo Sam, platinum-selling DECAP, exciting up-and-coming artists TWNTY8, Vinny Virgo, and Somber all packed into the album.
