RÜFÜS DU SOL confirms fourth studio album is underway on Twitter

RÜFÜS DU SOL hasn’t released a long-form project in over two years. Certainly, they rode the success of their award-winning studio album, 2018’s Solace, for years, with world tours extending into last year. But the Australian indie-electronic band hasn’t been in any rush to jump into the painstaking artistic writing process. The now-LA-based trio has released an abundance of music, however—from their Joshua Tree performance to their Rose Avenue Radio Show on Sirius XM, and an auspicious remix of Rose Avenue signees Lastlings, which marked RÜFÜS’ third-ever remix treatment of all time. Now the label bosses have confirmed in a rather low-key tweet that a fourth full-length album is on the way.

“For those asking us each week, yes we are working on a new album. Working on it every day. Thank you for patiently waiting,” they said in the middle of a Twitter thread promoting their Headphone Selections playlist. The playlist, which RÜFÜS DU SOL introduced earlier this year as a way to showcase their favorite music, also contains their Lastlings remix, although it cannot be confirmed whether the remix is part of the incoming LP. The statement comes sandwiched in the middle of a longer thread updating fans on their whereabouts. Still, the currently untitled album is causing quite an overwhelming sense of joy among their globally diverse fanbase.

The news also comes on the heels of the two year anniversary for RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Solace LP, which they celebrated just last month on October 18.
