Insomniac will host special Legacy livestream to honor i_o

While the recent tragedy has had the EDM world reeling since the news of Garrett Lockhart (i_o)’s sudden passing broke, an outpouring of online tributes has come from artists, fans, and industry tastemakers honoring the late techno producer. It has also sparked another much-needed national conversation around mental health—the likes of which haven’t been seen since Avicii’s death. While the world will never be able to witness i_o on stage, his music will live on into eternity.
To celebrate i_o’s musical career, as well as his life and legacy, Insomniac will be hosting a live stream tribute to showcase some of i_o’s most memorable outings. Insomniac’s CEO, Pasquale Rotella, had the following to say of the late techno producer/DJ:
I had the pleasure of getting to know i_o over the past year. Garrett played several livestreams for us during quarantine & his smile made a lasting impression. Rest In Peace to a beautiful soul, you will be deeply missed, may your music and spirit live on forever.”

Kicking off this weekend, Insomniac will be celebrating Lockhart’s life with a special legacy live stream, broadcasting i_o’s Virtual Rave-A-Thon sets from this year as well as his 2019 performance from EDC Las Vegas. The recent Armada signee had built a swift fan following centered around his techno and tech-house catalogue, his dark underground aesthetic, and his movement to bring back the days of the dingy warehouse show.
