After new reports of being tapped for Disney’s Tron 3 sequel last summer, Daft Punk have shared a deluxe edition of their TRON: Legacy soundtrack to celebrate the film’s ten year anniversary. While the film was poorly received by critics, the soundtrack also garnered a Grammy nomination.
Released on December 18, one day over the TRON sequel’s box office release on December 17, 2000, TRON: Legacy – The Complete Edition closes out with nine tracks that aren’t actually new. All were previously released across vinyl and digital-only Amazon/iTunes exclusives. As Polygon points out, the brand new deluxe edition features songs that have never before been released across wider streaming service providers.
Now all that is needed is an update from Disney on whether the Jared Leto-starring, Garth Davis-directed Tron 3 will include another soundtrack scored by Daft Punk. The world hasn’t seen any new material from the iconic duo since 2013’s Random Access Memories, which shuddered the commercial music realm by all accounts.
