Space Wizard blazes with ‘The Marble Room’ EP on Subtronics’ newly-launched Cyclops Recordings
Fresh from the announcement of Subtronics‘ freshly-minted Cyclops Recordings, Texas-based producer Space Wizard is starting off 2021 strong with his debut EP, The Marble Room. The up-and-comer in the bass music scene had been steadily releasing new music throughout 2020, including a collaboration with MIZE on his most recent Wakaan EP release and inclusion on Subsidia’s Dusk Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
Suffice it to say, the young underground talent is positioning himself quite nicely in the bass music world for 2021 to a possible breakout year. The Marble Room proves that much. From the EP’s title track opener, which was originally debuted as an ID on Space Wizard’s 10K mix, to the second track titled “Deactivation Sequence,” a collaboration with MOLOKAI, to the ethereal wobbles of “Corrupted Butterflies” to close out the three-tracker, the project is experimental bass at it’s finest. At times aggressive, at others beautifully quirky, Space Wizard refuses to be put into any one box.
“Space Wizard is a magical combination – outrageously creative, extremely gifted with talent, and also an incredibly down to earth and generally awesome person. The Marble Room EP is some of my favorite work of his and I’m SOOOO honored he is blessing Cyclops Recordings with releasing it.”
