Lane 8 poses daunting question in latest release, ‘Is This Our Earth?’
Over the course of 2020 and into 2021, there is no denying that musicians and artists of every classification have been facing difficulties with production and inspiration. While some producers have chosen to take a step back and regroup their direction, Daniel Goldstein, AKA Lane 8, is not one of them.
The pandemic and the state of our society didn’t slow down Goldstein in any manner. Delivering an epic sunrise set that premiered last year on Grand Lake, Goldstein astounded digital audiences around the globe. And probably a few aquatic critters that felt the underwater vibrations along the way.
A few months after his set in Colorado, on March 31st, 2021, Lane 8 asserted that he has no peak. With his enchanting track, “Is This Our Earth?,” released by Anjunadeep, Goldstein proved that there is no stopping his neverending success. The track came in the form of an original single and an extended mix, which may be the same song in essence, but differ in an illusive and never-ending manner that fans should be prompt to explore.
“One of the things I love most about being a parent is rediscovering the world through the eyes of a child. Realizing and appreciating all the magic around us, those things that too often fade into the distance in the whirlwind of ‘normal’ life. This song came about in an attempt to capture that curious energy that I find so inspiring.”– Lane 8
However, all of this followed Goldstein’s Brightest Lights album, a composition that was featured on Conscious Electronic’s Top Albums of 2020. Brightest Lights is perhaps the most astounding body of work that Lane 8 has delivered in his rampage of renditions over the past year. Some of which may have made listeners nostalgic for some of the entrancing sets that Lane 8 has performed. Performances, that may be arriving sooner than we think.
While Lane 8’s website doesn’t affirm any set tour dates, locations such as the Brooklyn Mirage have the Bay Area resident booked for a double-header on June 8 and 9. Stay tuned for more as details become available.
