iLLfest 2021 returns to Austin with stunning first phase line-up: REZZ, RL Grime, Phantogram, & more
The folks behind Austin’s growing EDM festival, iLLfest, are re-entering the live music arena this fall with a stunning dance-centric line-up. For 2021, the festival returns to its home at the Travis County Expo Center. The recently launched two-day extravaganza is living up to its hype as Texas’ stacked EDM event of the year with REZZ and RL GRIME in the spotlight.
A plethora of household names joins them on the second tier, including Chris Lorenzo, Malaa, Snakehips, Nightmares on Wax, and more. Is bass in more in your lane, head over to Ekali for or What So Not for some future and melodic, or Peekaboo, Mersiv, and Tsuruda for some heavy immersive beats. Then of course there’s Mija‘s newly indie-focused sound, SoDown‘s funky-fueled line of bass, or Justin Jay‘s Fantastic Voyage for some live instrumentation. Plus, it’s only the first phase— god knows what they’ll pull out their hats in May for phase two!
The only change from iLLfest’s inaugural year in 2019 is that the organizers have opted for September 17-18 over their usual weekend dates in May. Whether it’s a temporary move is still up for debate but, in any case, the way the pandemic handling is going under the current Biden administration, a solid majority of the US population will most certainly be fully vaccinated.
Tickets are available now on the iLLfest website, but they’re going fast.
