The Untz Festival 2022 unveils burgeoning initial lineup with SHADES, Tsuruda, Supertask, & many more

When it comes to burgeoning underground bass, The Untz Festival always has a finger on the pulse of the scene’s hottest and yet-to-be-discovered acts. In yet another line-up “mic drop,” the folks behind the established West Coast festival have announced the initial artists on their 2022 gathering at Sycamore Ranch.
Headlining The Untz Festival in Browns Valley, California will be none other than SHADES, the dark, duetted duo of Alix Perez and EPROM. Not only will their set coincide with the lunar eclipse on Sunday, May 15, it will also mark the first time Alix Perez will play a festival stateside since the onslaught of the global pandemic. In addition, Alix Perez’s 1985 Music is bringing an entire stage takeover experience to fortunate fans at The Untz with Tsuruda, Hyroglifics, along with a solo set from Alix Perez.
Also on the 2022 roster will be Untz favorites Chee., Supertask, Ternion Sound, The Librarian, and Resonant Language, along with sunrise sets from Bricksquash, tiedye ky, and a downtempo closing set from ZEE. That’s not all.
Wormhole Music Group is hosting a stage takeover with sets from artists such as Secret Recipe and Labrat, along with Chmura and Comisar, two artists who made our Artists to Watch in 2022 shortlist. They’re also bringing a must-watch back-to-back set from CE favorites Mythm and Matheny, who will also be playing solo sets as well.
Anyone who knows The Untz well knows it’s a festival that’s all about the undercard acts. Zoom in on ladies of bass Dela Moon, Honeycomb, Zen Selekta, as well as Saka b2b Floret Loret, Xotix, who will all bring their best to the decks. Taken with some of our favorite underground bass labels and collectives across the country, including Wavecraft Collective, Eclectic Imprint, The Gradient Perspective, The Rust Music, and more, this is an undercard that is the main pull of the festival.
