The mau5trap head honcho also announces eleventh We Are Friends compilation + accompanying US tour dates.

“XYZ” can refer to several things such as the top-level domain name or the 1980s hard rock band or getting caught with your pants down.  For Joel Zimmerman aka deadmau5, “XYZ” signals the latest single from world-renowned electronic musician. Fast tracking synths and driving beats dominate this nine-and-a-half-minute instrumental track, serving as the lead single from the upcoming mau5trap label compilation, We Are Friends Vol. 11, due out later this year.

Since 2012, We Are Friends has been an artist compilation series with the clear goal of giving airtime to fresh, newly discovered talent from Zimmerman’s mau5trap label. With the series’ incoming eleventh edition, and new singles to drop from the label’s key and rising players, the mau5trap family is celebrating the milestone with its first-ever branded tour: deadmau5 presents We Are Friends.  Headlined by deadmau5, NERO (DJ set) will support on all shows with Kasablanca, Lamorn, and more TBA artists on select dates.

Presented with Live Nation, the We Are Friends trek kicks off July 15 in Philadelphia and will take deadmau5 and company across the US through December, with other included stops in Madison, Minneapolis, Washington DC, Detroit, Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, San Francisco, and Boston.  Also included are stops at iconic venues such as The Gorge in Washington and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.  Look for more dates to be announced.
