The track that became known as “ray gun ID” and “that one ID from remote transmissions” finally sees its full release. As summer’s end approaches, G Jones now releases “Operator,” which also doubles as the lead single to his incoming EP, which is said to be titled Illusory Tracks. The fan-favorite ID turned surprise drop also announces the short player, which doesn’t yet a release date attached.
“Operator” harnesses the throwback energy of acid and breakbeat hardcore. G Jones recontextualizes some of these timeless sounds through the lens of his own creative intuition in a three-minute number that surprises at every turn. From its rave-lore sonic elements to its repetitive ray gun samples and a beautiful melodic breakdown around mid-track, this is an instant classic from the signature G Jones sound.
Having recently wrapped up his sold-out IllusoryOS tour (his biggest to date) and now on the tail end of an absolutely massive festival season highlighted by plays at EDC Vegas, Lightning in a Bottle, Bonnaroo, Bass Canyon, Electric Zoo, Lost Lands, and Porter Robinson’s Second Sky (debuting G Jones b2b Virtual Self), G Jones has cemented himself as a juggernaut in the experimental electronic and bass music lanes. Stream “Operator” now!
