GRiZ is ‘On A High’ with second unveiled single from forthcoming album, ‘CTGH 4’

Two singles in two weeks can only mean one thing: GRiZ is preparing for an album drop. The Denver-based funkmaster has released “On a High,” the second single to be delivered from his upcoming album, Chasing The Golden Hour 4. The album drop date is still under wraps, but fans in his adoring community following can certainly feel its release inching closer by the day.
The album is actually considered a “mixtape” that traces its sun-soaked sound back to GRiZ’s original roots. “On A High” is the glistening example of that. With its sultry house tempos, feel-good funktronica vibe, spacey synths and hip-hop sampling, and signature sexy saxophone solos, the four-minute number is everything one would want out of GRiZ and more. It is also the perfect sampler of what his forthcoming project will surely sound like.
2022 has seen the release of GRiZ’s imaginative collaborations with LSDREAM (“Funkonaut”), CloZee (“Color Of Your Soul”), and TVBOO (“Bass Music”), along with an appearance on Big Gigantic’s most recent album, Brighter Future 2.
