Smoakland gear up for their debut Liquid Smoak EP project with ‘Hold On’

Since first launching their first Liquid Smoak mix over two years ago, Smoakland has been clamoring to take their liquid DnB sound deeper. The time for one such new beginning has now come as the West Coast underground bass duo gears up for their official liquid drum-n-bass side project, aptly dubbed Liquid Smoak.

After dropping a yearly Liquid Smoak mix every November, the duo has finally finished an EP’s worth of tracks to be released as the debut Liquid Smoak EP. Titled Morning Rituals, the newest venture is set to release Friday, January 27. To prime the release, they are dropping one of the singles, “Hold On.”

“Hold On” features UK vocalist Megan Linnell, and her sultry vocals give the track a very pristine dynamic which cements the Liquid Smoak concept for listeners as something high energy, with smooth liquid percussion emphasizing the emotion throughout the track. It’s a true nod to the early aughts when drum-n-bass was just rounding it’s peak. All good things, as they say, come back around.

“Thank you all for giving us a space to share this different side to the project! It truly means the world.”

Having toured with the likes of Zeds Dead and Mersiv, in addition to playing some of last year’s biggest festivals, Anthony and Harrison have also been offering up teasers of their liquid DnB turn while out on the road. As 2023 starts off fresh, so too do the guys of Smoakland. Introducing: Liquid Smoak. Stream “Hold On,” featuring Megan Linnell, now!
