If Nick Steffen hasn’t rung a bell yet, it’s probably because you don’t live in the Miami and DC areas. A well-known DJ in those local scenes, Nick Steffen is a multitalented and upcoming artist breaking into the national scene. In any case, the South Florida DJ resident has chosen to put his producer belt on in a huge move for any artist. What began as a feature on his Revolution 93.5 radio brand, Digital World Radio—and now manifests as his debut album—Nick Steffen shares the full extent of his soulful, upbeat sound on Digital World.

Kicking off with a strong start on the title track, “Digital World” touches on the paradoxical online world with wistful lyrics and effortless drum beat switch-ups. From there, listeners can enjoy a world of brassy basslines, mellow pads, and even tropical marimba elements in tracks like “Never Dreaming.”

The project was inspired by certain unique qualities of the “digital world,” says the artist, especially “how we are connected but disconnected more than ever before.” This statement is captured skilfully in the bittersweet, melancholic sound that reverberates across the 8-track album. With ups, downs, and exciting moments around every turn, Steffen will have movers and shakers spinning round and around.

Nick Steffen got his start as a singer-songwriter at a young age and transformed into a distinctive DJ and producer who made a name for himself in the local club scenes of Miami. An artist of Insomniac Music Group, he’s performed at various Miami Music Week and Art Basel events; secured residencies across Miami and with Club Glow & Nu Androids, playing Forbidden Kingdom over the summer of 2022. Nick has shared the stage with celebrities like Valentino Khan, Wuki, Galantis, SNBRN, Dombresky, AC Slater, Niko The Kid, Gerry Gonza, and more.
