Mersiv‘s cunning indie imprint, MorFlo Records, has become a perfect home for many up-and-coming bass music producers. Dropping today as the fourth label compilation from the underground bass label, Slow Down, Vol. 1 is the first collaborative project signaling a more chilled-out, downtempo approach. Clocking in at 17 tracks, the collaborative album features a laundry list of veterans and newcomers alike, many of whom have been featured on our Top Artists To Watch and Top Female Female Artists shortlists in past years.

Featuring artists from Elderbass, Dank Frank, and Lowcation to Yoko, Mindex, and illoh, to more established artists like Jaenga, VEIL, and label favorites Kyral x Banko, the entire album is full of artists every bass aficionado needs to know in the current climate. From Notixx‘s eastern-influenced track in “Synchronous” to Super Future‘s hypnotizing fx and ethereal sound design on “Losing Myself,” to Hullabalo0‘s glitchy sampling techniques on “Bad Guy,” every artist brings their absolute best to the collection.

Collaborations on the album come in the form of “Peregrine” from Floret Loret and Low Poly, “Naughty Little Monsta” from VEIL and sharlitz web, and “Mindless” from Ujuu and RYNS. An absolute standout on the album is ESCPE and Gladkill‘s “Ancient,” which perfectly encapsulates the atmospheric slow-down vibe of the album.
