Get a glimpse of deadmau5’s set as techno alias TESTPILOT on Holy Ship! 11.0 [WATCH]
It’s no secret that deadmau5 has an ear for impeccable techno. Throughout his career, Joel Zimmerman has consistently shown his musical tastes are as sharp as his musical talents – particularly so in the past year through his BBC Radio 1 Residency mixes. Suffice it to say, the Canadian artist has had his hand on the scene’s pulse long before it was trendy or cool.
This past weekend, deadmau5 brought his take on techno to the high seas while aboard HOLY SHIP! 11.0. The mau5trap boss hasn’t pulled out his techno-driven TESTPILOT alter-ego since Detroit’s Movement Festival year. Before that, crowds hadn’t seen the alias since Zimmerman’s legendary b2b with Richie Hawtin at South by Southwest 2013.
The “set” obviously lacks the pomp and frills of a festival main stage, but it does offer viewers a sense of the musical catalogue that Zimmerman draws his selections.
