Marshmello’s manager Mo Shalizi is leaving Red Light to launch own independent firm
Anyone whose even slightly dipped their toes into the music industry knows Red Light Management is like a party island in a vast sea. Standing atop their solid ground of representation are electronic affiliates like Bassnectar, Bob Moses, Hayden James, AC Slater, Ferry Corsten, ODESZA, Slushii, and so many more.
So when a trailblazer like Moe Shalizi is leaving the company he’s been with since 2015, head’s turn. According to sources close to Billboard, Shalizi is leaving Red Light to embark on a new journey in his young career. The 28-year-old is said to be starting up his own independent management firm and, although he’s declined to comment, he’s bringing his own formidable talent roster with him.
Shalizi is known mostly for igniting the career of Marshmello, whose global popularity has been spreading like a forest fire in the dry season of summer. The pop/dance candy icon has recently cracked DJ Mag‘s Top 10, graced the cover of Forbes‘ “30 Under 30” issue, and been ranked as the fifth highest paid DJ in the world. He’s also responsible for the career successes of Jauz, Ookay, Slushii, Ghastly, Sikdope, and Southside of 808 Mafia.
