Daniel Goldstein, the creative mastermind behind Lane 8, has long possessed an innate ability to effortlessly transform any original song into his own work of art. Perhaps that’s why Above & Beyond saw so much in him when they first discovered his uniquely serene brand of deep house.

The This Never Happened label boss has just brilliantly tackled Virtual Self‘s defining anthem, “Ghost Voices,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award, but lost to Silk City and Dua Lipa’s “Electricity.” Lane 8’s rendition is a smooth downtempo cut that syncs fluently with the tranquil and transcendent vibe he’s become widely known for. All the while, Goldstein stays true to Virtual Self’s notable prototype. With added harmony layered over the song’s signature vocals, he leaves listeners floating on a cloud in perfect synchronicity with the beat.

An official remix is a true honor bestowed onto Lane 8, which further proves his tenacity and strength in the dance music scene. If the remix had come out sooner, it would’ve certainly made Conscious Electronic‘s top five “Ghost Voices” remixes of 2018.
