Big Wild recruits Alex Metric, pluko, more for ‘Superdream’ remix album
Big Wild has been on a roll recently. With the release of the acclaimed debut album Superdream and the announcement of a tour that begins in July, he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Now, he’s released a set of remixes for the album is sure to be moving feet on the dance floor all summer.
In the past, he’s been known to produce a host of different genres, never landing in one place for too long. Superdream found him settling into somewhat of a groove, offering a selection of bouncy, uplifting tracks that seem heavily influenced by his time with ODESZA and their Foreign Family label. Bright vocals and foot-stomping grooves populated the record, and the remix album continues in a similar vein.
Aside from GG Magree‘s final track, which veers more towards the bass/dubstep realm, the offerings here are based on house and funk rhythms. Alex Metric, pluko and Crooked Colours also all offer their takes on different Big Wild tunes, and the result is a remix EP that fits the soundtrack of summer. Check out the pure, uplifting vibes on this one below and Big Wild’s tour here.
