It’s been one year since Excision dropped of the bomb that was his APEX LP. The daring 14-track project conjured up the seminal apocalyptic dubstep that encapsulates Jeff Abel’s ultra-heavy style — with plenty of high-profile collaborations to boot, no doubt.

Now, on the brink of his Shambhala return, Excision has just released the remix album for APEX and he’s enlisted an army of talent that spans the bass music world’s best of the best. Featuring official remixes from G-REX, SLANDER, Shadient, 12th Planet, Mastadon, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Boogie T, Spag Heady, Blunts & Blondes, Kompany, Subtronics, Phaseone, Champagne Drip, Squnto, and Downlink, the remix album reads more like a “Who’s Who” in bass music.

Each remixer takes Excision’s brand of “Jurassic bass” to new heights, adding new twists and turns that will take listeners into headbanging madness. Rest assured, fans can expect to see many of these being played out live at Excision’s third annual Lost Lands, taking place this September 27-29 on Legends Valley, Ohio.
