Avicii tribute concert for mental health awareness sells out in 30 minutes

It’s been over a year since the death of legendary Swedish producer Tim Bergling, known professionally as Avicii. In that time, a number of artists have paid tribute to his legacy, and collaborated on an album of new material that was released in June 2019 titled simply TIM. The Tim Bergling Foundation was also established in his name, seeking to support mental health and suicide prevention.

The Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health and Awareness, part benefit, part tribute, will take place in Stockholm, Sweden on December 5. Featuring artists like Kygo, David Guetta, Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke and Aloe Blacc, the lineup is filled with many of his creative partners that worked with him during his life.

The venue for the event, the 55,000-seat Friends Arena in Stockholm, sold out in 30 minutes after tickets went on sale. His father Klas Bergling offered a statement about the night and its goal.

We are grateful that his friends, producers, artists and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help. They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation. We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation’s work going forward.

Proceeds from the show will go to benefit the foundation as the Bergling family looks to honor Avicii’s legacy.
