When Ekali announced he would be debuting his Illenium collaboration at EDC Las Vegas, the melodic bass pals struck their overlapping fanbases with a sense of anticipation and excitement. In a further act of surprise and awe, Ekali invited Illenium (aka Nick Miller) on stage during the closing moments of his set at a packed-out circuitGROUNDS. Together, they revealed the song’s title as “Hard To Say Goodbye” in a moment that became one of the most-talked-about of EDC 2019.
Flash forward a few months to summer and Ekali played the track again at Red Rocks while opening for Alison Wonderland. Now, in the midst of Illenium’s Ascend arena tour making its way around the nation, Ekali has been opening for the melodic bass maestro along many stops. After doing a run shows in Texas this past weekend, Ekali took to his socials today to post a photo of Miller. The bromantic photo-op was captioned with, “New music this Friday. One you’ve been waiting on.”
“Hard To Say Goodbye” is said to be on Ekali’s forthcoming debut album.
