Disclosure releases ‘Get Close’ to round out new ‘Ecstasy’ EP
Everything now comes to full fruition on Disclosure‘s latest release frenzy The Grammy nominated UK duo, comprised of brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, have released a track every day this week, culminating with today’s unveiling of “Get Close.” The record is the fifth and final offering on their brand new Ecstasy EP, which now sees its full wide release via Capitol Records.
“Get Close” is a bonafide Disclosure four-to-the-floor stomper fine tuned for the dance floor. The track dons deep house rhythms, ethereal builds, quirky vocal samples, and more, all built over a bouncy and extremely danceable landscape. Arriving as their first solo original of the week, “Get Close” is one for the purists.
“Years ago, we wrote a song called ‘Get Close’ that never saw the light of day. We aren’t usually ones to go back to an old idea after so long, but we never got that hook out of our heads,” the band says of the single.
The brothers launched Ecstasy on Monday, playing the title track during a live mix from Guy’s kitchen on their YouTube channel. Next up was “Tondo,” which received a BBC Radio 1 play from Annie Mac on Tuesday night. Disclosure took to YouTube to chat with fans and premiere the third track, “Expressing What Matters,” on Wednesday night. Zane Lowe premiered yesterday’s track, “Etran,” on his Beats 1 show. Ecstasy follows Disclosure’s 2018 EP, Moonlight, which received a similar week-long rollout.
The EP comes paired with a series of global tour dates which will see the Lawrence brothers along four California stops in April, including the paramount global music event, Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Disclosure will also headline London’s Lovebox Festival on June 13. The duo’s other festival performances include Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain, Riverside Festival Glasgow, and Down The Rabbit Hole in The Netherlands.
