G-REX shares second install of ‘The Summoning’ mix series with tons of heavy artists’ IDs

Jake Sweeney, better known under his heavy stage name G-Rex, is the Detroit artist whose gained notoriety for making music of the heavy dubstep and experimental bass variety. With hit tracks like “Wook Blaster,” “EFFE,” and “Rift” already under his belt, and collaborations with other hotly-rising bass newcomers from Peekaboo, YOOKiE, TYNAN to more fairly established acts like Kai Wachi and Dubloadz, the Wakaan affiliate has come to develop quite the group entourage. It’s a fact that pays off nicely in his fairly new mix series, which Sweeney dubs The Summoning.

In G-Rex’s second mixtape installment, he’s able to acquire loads of unreleased IDs from his chums, including Jackknife, YOOKiE, Ookay and Hydraulix, TVBOO, Sully, TYNAN, and so many more. With only five named and released tracks in the mix, The Summoning II is essentially is composed of 90 percent IDs, including a few from G-Rex himself. It’s quite the statement for making a case that G-Rex is one of the newest rising tastemakers in the “big room” bass movement, which is currently taking mainstages by storm.

G-Rex was slated to join Exicision along his newest tour, The Evolution, but the tour has been called off because of the coronavirus pandemic.
