OTR and Vancouver Sleep Clinic take fans to the ‘Moon’ on riveting new single

OTR has also announced his debut NA headlining tour.

Ryan Chadwick is a 26-year old aerospace engineer turned melodic producer who runs under the name OTR. The swift rising newcomer is gearing up to release his debut studio album, Lost At Midnight, arriving next month on Astralwerks. Over the past ten months, he’s shared four records off the 12-track project. Following the release of “Midnight Sun” last month, OTR now unveils the album’s newest single, “Moon,” featuring Brisbane-based artist Vancouver Sleep Clinic.

“Tim [Vancouver Sleep Clinic] and I first met during an Astralwerks writing camp at Shangri-la, the historic Malibu studio now owned by Rick Rubin. It only took 30 minutes for us to click and find the hook,” Chadwick says of the collaborative single. “After that weekend, I spent a lot of time thinking about what it was like to be at that iconic studio. I sort of felt like an imposter, and wanted to make something truly worthy of the history there. ‘Moon’ is the result of me pushing myself to rise to the occasion, and challenging my sound to be greater.”

Vancouver Sleep Clinic’s Tim Bettinson lays down the perfect vocals for such an ascendant track. The Australian artist’s luminous vocals float over OTR’s lush, euphoric production, creating an uplifting, transcendent track. “Moon” has all the stylistic trademarks of a quintessential ODESZA track, complete with prolonged cinematic builds, frosty synths, and angelic vocals that have a way of gliding into the spirit of a listener and settling into the crevices of their bones.

Along with the single release, OTR has has announced his very first headlining summer tour across North America. The tour will include shows at Vinyl in OTR’s adopted home of Atlanta, Rough Trade in New York City, and The Echo in Los Angeles.

“Moon” is the fifth single to arrive off OTR’s full-length debut, which sees wide released on April 24.
