San Holo soars with first of many quarantine singles, ‘(if only i could) hold you’
San Holo (real name Sander van Dijck) has been hit hard with quarantine blues. The Dutch artist was gearing up for his biggest show to date — a live band debut — inside San Fransisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. He was also preparing to host his label showcase, A Night With bitbird, during Miami Music Week, which was turned into a virtual event. With both shows cancelled, and nothing but time on his hands, now San Holo unexpectedly dropped a new single titled “(if only i could) hold you,” following up his instant hit with Broods, “Honest.”
Filled with lush guitar chords, feel-good melodies, infectious percussion, and touches of San Holo’s iconic future bass stylings, “(if only i could) hold you” is an emotive showcase of the producer’s forward-thinking sound design. Much to fans’ delight, the birtbird boss explained over his socials that the single is only the first step. He says he’ll be releasing music “every week for a while” creating an ever-expanding collection called stay vibrant. The new single is one of many more to look forward to in these times of social isolation.
