Bassnectar uncovers first two tracks from forthcoming ‘All Colors’ LP
After announcing his first full-length album in nearly four years, titled All Colors, Bassnectar has released the album’s first two singles. The tracks were first premiered last week on the first of Bassnectar’s Lockdown Mixtapes, Inside For The People, which featured a full audiovisual experience from Android Jones and Ashton who live-tweeted throughout the whole mix until it was subsequently cut short.
The title of the first mixtape, Inside For The People, also just so happens to be a lyric from “Nice & Easy,” featuring vocals from Rodney P, which is a powerhouse big room bass cut with ragga/jungle flair. The other single is Bassnectar’s elusive Empathy VIP, which finally sees an official release after Ashton has been playing it out live at his curated events for the past six years. The track’s official title is “Empathy (Bass Remedy Remix)” and it’s a long-overdue deliverance.
In keeping with Bassnectar’s charitable mindset, all proceeds from the remixed single of “Empathy” will be donated to a charity benefiting visual artists who are offering up their art in support of pandemic relief efforts. Bassnectar’s nonprofit, Be Interactive, has teamed up with Colorado’s Conscious Alliance to organize a charitable, decentralized virtual art gallery called #EmpathyArt gallery. The remix is also the soundtrack for the gallery, which asks visual art fans to support hunger relief or choose between other mutual aid projects.
Stream the first two single from Bassnectar’s upcoming album, All Colors, and look out for the rest of the project to land on June 19.
