Insomniac calls off Beyond Wonderland 2020 for SoCal and PNW
2020 was shaping up to the year that Beyond Wonderland would make its triumphant return to the Pacific Northwest after almost a decade. Then Insomniac delivered a jaw-dropping line-up in February and, in March, coronavirus began shutting down festivals left and right. Meanwhile, Beyond SoCal, which is usually slated for late March, rescheduled to June. The Insomniac-run event had no choice since California’s Governor Gavin Newsom placed a ban on all large public gatherings. As it turns out, both events are now officially on the chopping block for 2020.
Additionally, the company has furloughed 50 percent of its staff and is holding out hope for next year. “We are excited to shift our focus to creating an unforgettable experience for next year’s festival,” both statements read.
Insomniac released a detailed statement on their socials over refunds for ticketholders of both events as well. Those who had purchased tickets to either edition can request a full refund, but if one’s plan is to attend in 2021 then there’s an option to retain your ticket and receive a free upgrade as well.
