A-Trak and Chromeo’s Dave 1 are The Brothers Macklovitch, duo shares debut single with ‘Give Love To Get Some’
Joining a storied lineage of family entertainers like the Isleys, the Allmans, and the Baldwins, Grammy-nominated siblings A-Trak and Dave1 have made their mother proud on teaming up as The Brothers Macklovitch. The turntable icon and Chromeo frontman meld funky influences from their formative days with crisp production and soulful hooks. Their debut single as a familial duo is titled “Give Love To Get Some” and the funky house record is out now on A-trak’s Brooklyn-based independent imprint, Fools Good Records.
Featuring the smooth rap and sung vocals of rising R&B star Leven Kali, the track is soulful, sensual, and wildly seductive. Kali’s verses effortlessly merge with The Brothers’ uniquely negotiated sound, between Dave1’s whimsical breakbeat interludes and scattered horns and A-trak’s four-to-the-floor rhythms. Alain Macklovitch (A-trak) and David Macklovitch (Dave1) deliver a storied karmic message as old as time and music themselves: Give love. Get love in return.
“Give Love To Get Some” is the first single off a forthcoming two-track release from The Brothers Macklovitch coming soon. They will also make their live stream debut on the #BeApp, Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 pm EST.
