GRiZ teases new EP with Jauz-assisted dubstep anthem, ‘No Doubt’
GRiZ is back at it again, this time traveling back to his roots with fellow dubstep heavy-hitter Jauz in their latest banger, “No Doubt.”
Taking a leap from the dreamy, sax-adorned mixtape released just last month, Chasing the Golden Hour Pt. 3, GRiZ joins forces with Jauz and revisits dubstep’s heyday in “No Doubt” The highly-anticipated collaboration is months in the making, with its inception coming in the form of a tweet: as Jauz, in reference to Jakes & Joker’s 2008 classic “3K Lane”, tweeted, “I wanna write a dubstep album during this quarantine but not 2020 dubstep. This kinda shit. Speaking it into existence/posting it online so I have no choice but to do it.” GRiZ, the social butterfly he is, hopped on the idea within a few hours, and “No Doubt” was born.
The track serves as a taste of Bangers[6].Zip, the sixth installment of GRiZ’s chart-topping Bangers.Zip EP series, which will drop tomorrow, October 16. The Michigan-native producer’s groovy electro-soul melodies are amped up by Jauz’s wobbly basslines and affinity for low-pass filters for a truly reminiscent experience. Rather fittingly, “No Doubt” as well as the rest of the EP will be released via Zed’s Dead‘s label Deadbeats, whose roster includes Peekaboo, Eprom, Blanke, Subtronics, and more.
