Excision & SLANDER release gargantuan melodic dubstep collaboration, ‘Your Fault’
Ever since Excision and SLANDER debuted “Your Fault” during their first-ever back-to-back set at HiJinx Festival 2019, fans of both artist camps have been salivating for the then-ID’s official release. The highly anticipated and high-powered collaboration between the trio and featured vocalist Elle Vee now comes nearly one year later on Subsidia Records.
“Your Fault” falls right in line with Excision’s recent outputs with Illenium—heavy, yet hypnotic, where melodic bass and head-banging dubstep collide. Built around its soft, melancholic piano chords, lush orchestral soundscapes, and smooth, gentle vocals, the drop takes listeners into Excision’s ferocious dubstep land at the point of no return. He even dips into mid-tempo, utilizing a raucous 1788-L-esque that glitches out on the last drop.
Still, the melodic pay-offs still come around on the verses. All in all, “Your Fault” is exactly what fans would expect of a collaboration between Excision and SLANDER, and their signature marks can be heard and felt clearly throughout the entire journey.
