Mean Mug’s Young Ville releases hilarious heavy-hitter with ‘Scissor Lift’ [Premiere]
The artist roster at Mean Mug Music has been on Conscious Electronic‘s radar for some time. Between the collective’s keen eye for underground bass music talent and their partnering up on events like WTF’s That Spooky Massive, which recently made our Top Livestreams of 2020 shortlist, Mean Mug knows rising talent. Detroit-based artist, Young Ville, is one of those artists, and he’s released a brand new track via Headbang Society, which we’re thrilled to premiere officially today, December 28.
Young Ville is a producer/writer/DJ hailing from Canton Michigan. He integrates dubstep, freeform bass, riddim, and hip hop into his distinctive brand of dance music to create a unique experience for his fans. As seen in his recent releases “Revolt” and “Baphomet,” his ominous sound design coupled with his heavy-hitting drops are sure to compel any headbanger to find the nearest rail. He started producing in 2017 and has rapidly emerged as one of the hottest up and coming acts in Michigan’s thriving EDM scene.
“This tune is based off a YouTube video I found 5 years ago, ‘Steve’s Drunk and High DUI at Work (Arrested on Scissor Lift).’ It’s hilarious! Be sure to check out the video before the song drops, you won’t regret it.”– Young Ville
Between the track’s paralyzing drops and heavy bass lines, the hilarious vocal samples which the song is built around, and it’s vibe of all-around fun, Young Ville certainly knocks this one out of the park. It’s so nice to have such a light-hearted laugh track (albeit heavily laced with foreboding bass) to remind the masses that the hard times of 2020 hasn’t been all bad. We just have to find the finnier moments to keep us in tune with where we’ve been and where we’re going.
