Porter Robinson has been keeping quiet since last September when the visionary tastemaker released his self-directed music video for “Mirror,” the last single to arrive from his highly-anticipated sophomore album. Highly-anticipated may even be an under-exaggeration considering Robinson planned to release and tour the album in 2020, but decided to postpone the LP release. Still, he has been releasing singles off of the post-Worlds project with ”Get Your Wish,” “Something Comforting,” and “Mirror,” respectively. On January 27, 2021, Porter plans to pick back up with the project’s next official single, titled “Look at the Sky.”
Accompanying the announcement, which came yesterday, Porter has offered up a brief 30-second preview of the track. The single falls within the same stylistic themes as his previous three singles, donning the producer’s signature indie-dance style with the use of his own auto-tuned vocals and meaningful lyrics. There’s a good chance he will be delving into the depth and meaning behind his words when the track lands in two weeks, but we suspect the track will be used a way to pull his fanbase to his annual curated festival, Second Sky.
