Less than two weeks after announcing the return of EDC Las Vegas, and a day before the full line-up announcement, Pasquale Rotella has decided to pull the plug on the 25th anniversary. While the news comes as a shock, the Insomniac owner took to his socials to explain his hallmark event’s postponement to October 2021.
Heartbroken over the new stipulation, Rotella said his team has been working around the clock with “over 40 trucks en route to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from all over the country.”
“Clark County (home of EDC & the Las Vegas Motor Speedway) passed a reopening plan that requires 60% of their residents to be vaccinated before restrictions over large-scale gatherings such as EDC can be lifted. Unfortunately, the rate at which people get vaccinated before EDC is out of our control. It might happen in time, it might not. Either way, we can’t take that risk.”

While the announcement comes as a massive disappointment for headliners whose only dream is to return to the electric sky, reception of the news has been taken with understanding and relief. Relief over a large-scale event company choosing to make the safe and responsible decision to keep everyone safe.
EDC Las Vegas will take place on the new dates of October 22-24, 2021. Tickets will automatically be transferred to the new dates, or headliners may elect to receive a refund. For those who have already transferred their ticket to 2022, those tickets will also be transferred to the new dates. Pasquale also noted that he will be hosting Reddit AMAs in the future for all event updates.
