2021 has been a tough one on everyone, to say the least.
While live music saw it’s much-needed return, seasonal festivals began gradually remerging , and artists began releasing the work from keeping their heads close to the headphones while in lockdown, there’s still been resounding consensus that 2021 is better left in the past. Whatever your stance on the matter, it’s time to begin taking stock on all the great things from the year–beginning with the year’s top dance music releases
From RUFUS DU SOL’s GRAMMY-nominated track, “Alive,” to Zeds Dead and MKLA‘s hit track by the same name, to a GRiZ and Subtronics reboot, along with more star-powered collaborations between REZZ and deadmau5 and Illenium, Krewella, and SLANDER, there were so many notable original releases on the year that we struggled to narrow them down.
With the end of 2021 comes the opportunity to turn over a new leaf, make new yearly resolutions, as well as find new sounds and emerging generic trends developing on the near horizon.
