After much speculation, hype—and many theories, rumors, and leaks— Porter Robinson has announced his upcoming album’s first single release. The track, entitled “Cheerleader,” will be out Wednesday, March 20. For anyone that follows the Coachella regular closely, they’ll tell you that Porter and his team announced his third LP was complete on March 1.

Since the announcement, fans have been speculating possible album and single titles, as well as what the new era may hold, for the artist. Many fans and critics have noticed a massive generic shift in his musical style as compared to Nurture. That style, according to many, seems to have returned to his 2012 Spitfire era personality. It may go without saying that everyone in the EDM world is here for it. Either way, fans have been side-chuckling at Porter’s cheeky trolling posts, including one he posted to TikTok where he dramatically throws a boombox from his balcony into a floating trashcan in a pool.

We’ve received many clips of the new single so far, and Porter’s fanbase is ready to welcome this new era with open arms. After all, that is what Porter Robinson has been long known and loved for.
