Charlesthefirst teases upcoming EP with first single, ‘Room To Breathe’
Since the release of his Ascent LP last year, Charlesthefirst has been so busy touring the country that he hasn’t really released much beyond a recent collaboration with TieDye Ky. However, the Lake Tahoe-based beatsmith has been putting the final touches on a new EP and he’s now begun ramping up anticipation for the release with “Room To Breathe.”
Arriving as the first single from the extended player, “Room To Breath” has all the musings of a poetic Charlesthefirst number. Complete with smooth tones, natural sound samples, and heavily subdued breakdowns, the track has a way of dropping listeners off easily into Charlesthefirst’s meditative, downtempo terrain. In fact, the song feels a lot like taking a stroll deep into the redwoods of Northern California.
Charlesthefirst has such a unique ability to induce meditative states immediately upon listening to his tracks, even when the track becoming gritty and heavy. It’s easy listening pumped full of adrenaline. For Charles, music is poetry, which is what has made him a CE favorite over the past two years. If the track is any indication of what to expect from his forthcoming EP, fans can expect more calming and rejuvenating sonic landscapes that beg to be played on repeat.
Charlesthefirst’s No Dimmer EP is due out October 15. Also catch him on his Fall/Winter NA tour, with festival stops at Freaky Deaky, Meow Wolf Dark Palace, FriendShip, and Deja Voom. Tickets are available here.
